Introducing...

Marissa Harris

Advocacy Developer

LAMPa is pleased to announce that Marissa Harris has joined our ELCA state public policy office and advocacy ministry in Pennsylvania as Advocacy Developer.

Marissa Harris is a native of Roanoke, Virginia and a life-long Lutheran.  As an undergraduate, she was an active member of Lutheran Campus Ministry at Virginia Tech.  It was there, as well as through her leadership involvement in Lutheran Student Movement-USA, that she was introduced to ELCA advocacy.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Virginia Tech with majors in political science and history in 2005, Marissa began her theological education.  Congratulations to Marissa who is also a 2008 Master of Divinity graduate of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia!

In 2006-2007 Marissa did field education work at the Lutheran Office of Governmental Ministries in New Jersey.  Other highlights of her seminary education include globalization trips to Israel/Palestine, El Salvador, and Switzerland.

Marissa’s LAMPa work will emphasize LAMPa’s advocacy network development and coordination.  If you would like to grow deeper into your advocacy ministry or explore how your congregation or organization can grow in efforts to live into our baptismal calling “to strive for justice and peace in all the earth” you can contact Marissa Harris at mharris@lamp.org or (717) 545-3500.

Welcome, Marissa!
