PHAN Members and Friends:

The most important time of the year for health care is rapidly approaching in Harrisburg as legislators approach the budget deadline in June.

In Washington, the best chance in 14 years for comprehensive health reform is approaching; key committees will start work next week on legislation that will be debated later this summer. As health activists, we all need to make the most of these opportunities.

On Friday, April 24 from 12:00 to 12:45, PHAN will host a conference call to

·                     brief you about what’s happening in Harrisburg and Washington,

·                     hear short reports about what local health activists have been doing around the state, and

·                     describe what advocacy is needed in coming weeks.

Speakers will include Sharon Ward, director of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center and Rick Speese, legislative director in the office of Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Todd Eachus.

For instructions on how to join this call, please RSVP by noon on Thursday, April 23 to Marissa Harris (mharris@lamp.org You will then receive information about how to join the call.
