2009-2010 LAMPa Public Policy Agenda Development Process

You are invited to participate in shaping LAMPa’s 2009-2010 Public Policy Advocacy Agenda.  Every two years, in the fall, the LAMPa Policy Council establishes the Public Policy Advocacy Agenda for our advocacy ministry and work with the next General Assembly that will be installed in January, and the Executive Branch of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  The process includes gathering information from the constituency, research on current issues, in addition to dialogue with state government leaders and coalition/network partners.  You may review the 2007-2008 LAMPa Public Policy Advocacy Agenda on our website (www.lamp.org).

Please mail or email (lampa@lamp.org) your comments, questions, and reflections regarding the following questions to the LAMPa office by Friday, October 31, 2008:

  • What societal issues do you think should be addressed during the next two years that could be considered for the LAMPa 2009-2010 Public Policy Advocacy Agenda?
  • What actions of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania state government have concerned you that should be addressed?
  • What positive actions of state government should be encouraged and expanded?
  • Do you have suggestions about public policy priorities for 2009-2010?
  • Do you have other comments, questions, and/or reflections that could be considered as this public policy agenda is being developed?

As you may know, LAMPa presents advocacy based on the Social Statements and Messages of the ELCA.  Social statements and messages guide the social witness of the church in public life.

As a public church, we are called to address significant social issues that affect the common good.  Thank you for your partnership as we work to develop a common voice for the common good for Lutherans in Pennsylvania.

Please contact the LAMPa office at (717) 545-3500 or lampa@lamp.org with questions or comments regarding the 2009-2010 LAMPa Public Policy Advocacy Agenda development process or any other issue.

Special thanks for your partnership in advocacy ministry with and for people living in poverty, the vulnerable, disenfranchised, and on behalf of all God’s creation!
