Energy Conservation - HB 2200

Last week the Energy Savings Bill, HB 2200, overwhelmingly passed both Houses of the General Assembly!

Thanks to your efforts, Pennsylvania has taken some important first steps towards energy conservation including:

• A required reduction in overall energy demand of 1 percent by 2011 and 3 percent by 2013
• A required reduction in peak demand of 4.5 percent by 2013
• Universal smart meter deployment within 15 years

HB 2200 will not only reduce pollution, it will also help create Green Jobs!  Please be sure and thank your elected officials for the good work they did in passing this important bill.
